Want to try out Jiu-Jitsu?
Beginners are welcome at any of our sessions, all year around! Your first two sessions are free!

Sessions
We keep our sessions tied to the Cambridge University terms. The club operates one session before the start of full term, and one session after. This means there are 18 sessions per term.
During the University term we will be running sessions at the following times:
Monday: 19:30 – 21:30 @ University of Cambridge Sports Centre (CB3 0AS)
Wednesday: 19:00 – 21:00 @ Queen Edith Community Primary School (CB1 8QP) (Yellow + only)
Saturday: 16:30 – 18:30 @ University of Cambridge Sports Centre (CB3 0AS)
Outside term time, training times do vary, unless the Sports Centre is closed. Email us or check the Facebook group for most up-to-date information.
Please arrive a little early as there is a little admin to complete before your first session. Wear clean clothes that you can move in easily without buckles or embellishments that could injure you or those you are training with, for example, a t-shirt and track suit trousers. If you already own a gi (martial arts uniform) you are welcome to wear it but please bring a white belt or borrow one of ours.
New student members of the club are entitled to receive a starter kit. It includes the following (cost for 2025-26 tbc):
- A Gi and Jitsu Badge
- Your Jitsu Foundation License
- One term’s fees.
Fees
Our members typically pay term fees (if you’re only here during term time), or monthly fees otherwise. If you’re not able to train regularly, there is a pay per session option too. For the academic year 2025-26, the fees are:
Term: tbc.
Monthly: £25 (3 months minimum).
Per session: £6
Licence Costs
Licence and insurance for one year (2025-26): £37 (payable to our National Governing Body, the TJJF).
All of these can be paid by bank transfer or standing order.
